OUR SMALL BUT
MIGHTY
BUTTONS
Other People’s Plastic buttons and the plastic waste solution.
To prevent plastic from finding its way into the water, our partners have built a transparent, traceable supply chain, where ocean-bound plastic waste is collected from oceans, rivers and along the coastlines by social enterprises and local fishermen, paid a fair wage per kilo of plastic brought in. The process ensures local job creation and compliance with international ethical and ecological standards.
It is a known fact that marine plastic pollution has a significant impact on our ecosystems and health. It has affected at least 267 species worldwide, killing fish, sea turtles, seabirds, and marine mammals. It has pushed coral reefs, which protect coastal communities from storm surges, towards extinction and has even made it into the human food chain, with a significant percentage of fish ingesting plastic fragments.
Collected single-use plastic is sorted, washed and shredded. It is then restored back to its virgin level using a solar-powered compounding process, reversing the damage done by UV ray exposure, saltwater and sand. The regenerated material is transformed into high-quality granules, ready to be moulded into safe and durable goods.
OPP buttons are created using these upcycled, ocean-bound plastic granules. Designed in-house with a focus on style and performance, the buttons are manufactured using the rod process by our partners in Asia: materials are melted to liquid form and made into long rods, which are then cut into the required thickness per button, shaped into desired form, and polished for a final finish.
Our OPP buttons add fashionable functionality and versatility to OPP swimwear and beachwear. They are also available to other brands for use in their own designs via our collaboration program.
By using OPP buttons, brands and consumers help protect the oceans, reduce their carbon footprint, save fossil resources and participate in an eco-friendly circular economy.

OTHER PEOPLE’S PLASTIC
A new wave of oceanwear, our suits are produced from recycled yarns, ocean-bound plastics and regenerated materials, and every suit diverts 100 plastic bottles from the ocean through our partnership with Plastic Bank.
